ROCKINGHAM CANCELS RACES ON SATURDAY DUE
TO WEATHER CONDITIONS
SALEM, NH-- Rockingham Park cancelled the
remainder of the card after two races on Saturday due to inclement
weather.
Heavy rainstorms with thunder and lightening made
conditions unsafe for racing, but live racing will resume on Sunday with an
11-race card as scheduled and first post IS at 1:05 PM.
On Sunday, Rockingham will host a pair of $12,500
eliminations for the Joseph Carney Memorial Trot to determine the field for
next Sunday's $30,000 Carney final. Defending champion Scorpion Moon, who is
looking to become the first back-to-back winner of the annual race honoring the
track's late owner and president, will take on six other trotters in the first
elimination and local star Slim Down is the early 5-2 choice in the second
elimination.
The first leg of the Battle For New England series
for trotters will also be held on Sunday.
